President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has transmitted a formal letter to the Senate, seeking the screening and confirmation of Dr. Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh, Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! The letter from the President was read during Tuesday’s plenary session by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio. Following the announcement, Senator Akpabio referred the nomination to the Committee of the Whole for further legislative consideration and subsequent screening.
Dr. Udeh, who currently serves as the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Enugu State, was recently elevated to the prestigious rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria. His nomination comes in the wake of the resignation of the former Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Uche Nnaji.
Nnaji, the only minister representing Enugu State in the Tinubu administration, resigned last month following controversies surrounding his academic and NYSC certificates. His exit created a vacancy in the Federal Executive Council and left Enugu State without ministerial representation.
If confirmed by the Senate, Dr. Udeh will step in to fill the position, restoring Enugu State’s presence in the Federal Cabinet.
Congratulations have continued to pour in for Dr. Udeh, whose nomination has been widely welcomed as a recognition of his professional excellence and distinguished service to Enugu State and Nigeria’s justice system.
