According to the party, the hearing, which will take place at The Dome, International Conference Centre, Enugu, from 9 a.m., is part of a nationwide consultation process approved by the National Executive Committee (NEC) to review and strengthen the APC Constitution (2022, as amended).

The event will be hosted by the Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, who is expected to welcome delegates, stakeholders, and party members from across the South-East geopolitical zone, including Enugu, Abia, Imo, Anambra, and Ebonyi States.

In a statement signed by Murtala Aliyu Kankia, Esq., National Legal Adviser and Secretary of the APC Constitution Amendment Committee, the exercise is aimed at deepening internal democracy and promoting inclusivity within the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“The public hearing provides an open platform for members and stakeholders to raise thematic issues, make informed contributions, and submit memoranda on provisions of our party’s constitution they believe should be amended,” Kankia said.

He added that the Committee welcomes inputs from party members, support groups, youth and women organizations, civil society bodies, and the media to ensure that the constitution reflects the aspirations of all segments of the party.

The zonal hearing, according to the statement, will form part of a broader process designed to build consensus and strengthen the APC’s internal structures for more effective leadership and governance.

Members and stakeholders are, therefore, encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity to participate in shaping a more democratic and forward-looking APC.
