The flag-off ceremony, held at Central School, Agbogugu, attracted party stakeholders, political appointees, community leaders, and residents from across the local government area, underscoring growing enthusiasm around the APC’s renewed mobilisation drive ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Flagging off the exercise, the Executive Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area, Hon. Uchenna Joseph Okolo, described Governor Mbah’s leadership as visionary and transformative, commending his bold development initiatives and strategic governance approach. He emphasized that the digital registration exercise would deepen grassroots participation, strengthen party structures, and firmly position Awgu as a key contributor to the APC’s growth in Enugu State.

Hon. Okolo explained that the e-registration initiative is designed to be accessible, transparent, and inclusive, noting that registration agents have been deployed to communities and village squares across Awgu to ensure seamless participation for all eligible residents. He urged party members and supporters to fully embrace the exercise, stressing that a strong membership base remains fundamental to effective political organisation.

“This exercise is about inclusiveness, ownership, and growth. Awgu is ready to play its part in building a strong and people-driven APC,” he said, while personally completing his registration to demonstrate leadership by example.
In his remarks, former Enugu State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Martins Chukwunwike, pledged his loyalty to Governor Mbah and the APC, describing the digital registration drive as a forward-looking initiative capable of deepening political awareness and strengthening party unity.

He commended the level of mobilisation in Awgu, noting that the widespread deployment of registration agents would enhance party cohesion and improve readiness for future elections.

Also speaking, the APC Caretaker Chairman in Awgu Local Government Area, Hon. Kenechukwu Okolo, described the exercise as a strategic move toward repositioning the party. He noted that the digital platform would improve internal democracy, enhance data management, and encourage wider participation, particularly among youths and first-time registrants.

Party officials confirmed that the registration exercise would continue across all wards in the local government area, with eligible residents encouraged to register or update their membership details.
Dignitaries at the event included the Member representing Awgu South Constituency in the Enugu State House of Assembly, Hon. Anthony Nwankwo; the Commissioner for Human Development and Poverty Eradication, Prof. Benedette Ekwutosi Okoli; Deputy Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area, Dr. Stanley Ezediuto; and Leader of the Awgu Legislative Council, Hon. Rose Udeh, alongside other party leaders and stakeholders.

Following the flag-off, Hon. Okolo led party officials to supervise the registration exercise in Isu/Ituku/Agbudu Ward, where residents were further sensitised on the importance of the initiative. Speakers highlighted the APC’s adoption of a fully digital membership registration system as a milestone in modern party organisation.
In a strong show of unity and solidarity, residents of Agbogugu Ward and Isu/Ituku/Agbudu Ward pledged their support for the APC and expressed confidence in the party’s leadership as the membership drive continues across Awgu Local Government Area.
