Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah on Youth Development & Mobilization, Hon. Charles Nnaemeka Edeh, has officially launched the 6-Week Holiday Digital & Specialized Skill Acquisition Programme (First Edition), while securing scholarships for 50 young people across the state.
The initiative, themed “Unlocking Youth Potential, Transforming Tomorrow,” was organized by the Office of the Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Development & Mobilization in collaboration with CUTECH Creative Tech & Skills Hub, underscoring the Enugu State Government’s commitment to preparing its youths for opportunities in the rapidly evolving digital economy.
A major highlight of the event was the presentation of a ₦5 million scholarship cheque to sponsor the training of the 50 beneficiaries throughout the six-week programme. The scholarship is expected to provide participants with hands-on training in digital and specialized skills that will enhance their employability, stimulate entrepreneurship, and position them for success in today’s technology-driven world.
Speaking during the launch, Hon. Charles Nnaemeka Edeh described the programme as another practical demonstration of the unwavering commitment of Governor Barr. Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah to empowering young people through education, digital innovation, entrepreneurship, and strategic human capital development.
According to him, Governor Peter Mbah’s administration recognizes that investing in the capacity of young people is critical to building a prosperous and globally competitive Enugu State. He noted that the Holiday Digital & Specialized Skill Acquisition Programme is designed not only to equip participants with relevant technical skills but also to inspire innovation, creativity, and self-reliance among the state’s youth population.
Hon. Edeh reaffirmed that the Office of the Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Development & Mobilization will continue to champion impactful programmes and strategic partnerships that create opportunities for young people, expand access to digital knowledge, and support the Governor’s vision of building a skilled, productive, and innovation-driven workforce.
He expressed profound appreciation to Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah for his unwavering support for youth-focused initiatives and for consistently prioritizing investments in education, skills acquisition, and economic empowerment.
The Governor’s aide also commended Engr. Collins U. Onu, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of CUTECH Group, for partnering with the Enugu State Government to make the initiative a reality. He described the collaboration as a model of effective public-private partnership that will positively impact the lives of young people and contribute to the socio-economic transformation of the state.
The six-week training programme is expected to expose participants to practical knowledge in digital technology and other specialized fields, equipping them with globally relevant competencies needed to compete in the modern workplace, create businesses, and contribute meaningfully to the growth of Enugu State economy.
The launch of the programme further reinforces Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s administration’s resolve to build a future where every young person in Enugu has access to quality education, digital innovation, entrepreneurship opportunities, and the skills required to thrive in an increasingly competitive global economy.
