Enugu Govt Donates 400 Desktop Computers to ESUT to Boost Digital Learning

The Enugu State Government has donated 400 desktop computers to the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) in a major push to strengthen digital education and expand technology-driven learning within the institution.

The computers were officially handed over during a ceremony attended by the university’s management and representatives of the state government.

Speaking at the event, the Vice-Chancellor of ESUT, Prof. Aloysius-Michaels Okolie, expressed profound appreciation to Governor Peter Mbah for what he described as a timely intervention that would significantly enhance teaching, learning and academic administration.

According to the Vice-Chancellor, the donation will facilitate the activation of the university’s 500-capacity ICT Centre, positioning ESUT to host both internal and external Computer-Based Tests (CBT) and examinations.

He noted that the intervention aligns with the university’s drive to embrace technology and experiential learning, while improving students’ access to modern digital facilities.

The handover ceremony was attended by key officials of the university and the Enugu State Government, including Dr. Uchenna Okafor, Director of ICT; Dr. Onyeka Egwuagu, Director of TETFund; Prof. Chike Nwoha, Deputy Vice-Chancellor; Dr. Uzoamaka Ogwo, University Librarian; Chief Ambrose G. Ugwu, Registrar; Prof. Francis Iloeje, Director of Physical Planning; Juliet Okonkwo, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Legal and Intergovernmental Affairs; and Prof. Ukwuaba of the Faculty of Education.

The donation underscores the Mbah administration’s commitment to transforming education through technology, digital infrastructure and experiential learning, with the aim of preparing students for the demands of a rapidly evolving global economy.
