During the inspection, the Commissioner expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work, describing the intervention by the Enugu State Government as a landmark investment in youth development and institutional strengthening.

According to Hon. Ekweremadu, the projects currently underway at the camp include the construction of a brand-new 1,000-bed hostel for corps members, a modern auditorium hall, new residential quarters for NYSC officials and staff of partner agencies, a state-of-the-art internal road network, and a newly designed parade ground with a befitting pavilion.
“I am highly impressed with the level of progress recorded so far. These projects clearly reflect the visionary leadership and unwavering commitment of His Excellency, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, to youth development and the transformation of critical institutions in Enugu State,” the Commissioner stated.
He noted that upon completion, the upgraded facilities would significantly enhance the welfare, safety, and overall orientation experience of corps members posted to Enugu State. He added that the improved infrastructure would also boost operational efficiency for NYSC officials and collaborating agencies.

“This development will not only strengthen the NYSC Scheme in Enugu State but will also create a more conducive environment for national service. It further positions Enugu as one of the most attractive and preferred destinations for corps members across Nigeria,” Hon. Ekweremadu added.
The Commissioner reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to sustaining investments that empower young people and support programmes that foster national unity, discipline, and development.
